Center for Hong Kong, Macao and International Studies, Shenzhen University

The Center for Hong Kong, Macao and International Studies of Shenzhen University was established with the approval of the Department of International Studies of the Ministry of Education in March 2021. It is the first Ministry of Education international and regional research base established in the Shenzhen University.

The research center's primary purpose is policy consultative service, the main task is policy research, and focus on the improvement and innovation of organizational management forms and development models. The research center specializes in policy consultative research, scientific research and talent development, constantly improves the quality of research and promotes the conversion of academic output to policy consultation. To build a think tank that takes a leading position domestically, internationally renowned and serves as a talent highland, we endeavor to gather the strongest disciplinary advantages, the most distinctive development characteristics and the most competitiveness in the humanities and social sciences disciplines of Shenzhen University.

The research center integrates the research strength of relevant institutions of Shenzhen University, including the Center for Basic Laws of Hong Kong and Macau SAR, the Law School, the School of Foreign Languages, the Marxism College, the Institute of Urban Governance, the Institute for China's Overseas Interests, and the Greater Bay Area International Innovation Institute. The center's administration bases on the Center for Basic Laws of Hong Kong and Macau SAR, it conducts comprehensive research on the law, politics, economy, culture, society and international relations of Hong Kong and Macao.

The management committee is the leading institution of the research center. The university president responsible for social science work serve as the director and deputy director of the management committee, and the members are appointed by the president of Shenzhen University from the departments of social sciences, foreign affairs and relevant functional departments of the school. Members also include professors of the colleges and research institutions.

The research center has a director and several deputy directors, who are appointed by the president of Shenzhen University and assume the functions of the executive body of the research center. The current director is Professor Zou Pingxue.
